post-photography Experiments with the photographic medium

Film Ends.

These images are a collection of discarded elements of negatives. At the edges of film strips, the same chemical process that enables the photographer to record the desired image, inadvertently produces its own image created by stray light and by the very action of these chemicals, creates stunning colours, textures and abstract forms. By highlighting and focusing on the characteristics that the chemical process produces, I am challenging the preconceptions of what the photographic image is, and posing questions about the true nature of the photographic medium.

With this work I seek to demonstrate that the releasing of the camera shutter is neither the beginning nor the end.
